ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

A very good article is in today's Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper
titled "Evangelicals Divided Over Evolution". To read it go to
http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/
There is a free registration required to read it, but it is well worth
it.
To me, the article reinforces Ian Simmons and Stephen J. Gould's
strategy, for we don't want anyone, including the most religious among
us, rejecting science, and in turn, rejecting science centers. The
issue takes sensitivity to deal with but it does need to be dealt with.
I previously on this listserv advocated stand alone statements for
science centers on evolution but have changed my mind. Controversies
such as this need programs with live, well trained staff to discuss the
issues with visitors, carefully and compassionately, much as Ian does
and recommends.
