Couldn't have been a polite way of saying "get lost: I'm tired of answering
these silly questions"?
But otherwise: cool idea; not something you would imagine on your own

Subject: Re: dismiss folklore as fantasy

My friend finally found a translator for the passage and it said, "This is
the wrong time of year to discuss this matter, but come back in the winter
and I can answer..." My friend spent the better part of a year searching
high and low for the winter notes, but never found them.
Much to all our great loss, he passed away a year or so later, taking the
mystery with him.

My point here is that just as our European colleagues see archaeology
differently, so do the people we investigate. Can you imagine a culture
which sees things differently by the seasons?
