This comment does not pertain to English-speaking, or to Protestant
cemeteries, but for what it does suggest about one community's attitude toward
suicides: research into Chinese burial records in Los Angeles revealed that when
226 individuals were exhumed from Evergreen Cemetery in 1937 for shipment back
to the homeland and reburial in China, neither victims of violence nor
suicides were disinterred. Neither were women and infants.
