Dear HistARCHers:
I am doing background and comparative research for a report on the San
Francisco Presidio's Laundresses' Row, including a series of late 19th
century privies from the locale that we excavated last summer. I thought
I would query the list for references, as I am having a difficult time
finding studies of laundresses' privies on military posts. Privy studies
are, of course, abundant, and I have had some luck with laundresses
*not* on military bases, or privies on bases that are *not* related to
laundresses, but have had little luck with the intersection of all three
topics. If anyone can advise, I'd be much obliged.
Thanks in advance -
aloha
