ST. AUGUSTINE REGIONAL PUBLIC ARCHAEOLOGY CENTER of the FLORIDA PUBLIC
ARCHAEOLOGY NETWORK:

 

 


Director/Public Archaeologist* -- Flagler College, St. Augustine,
Florida, invites applications for a full-time staff position for the St.
Augustine Public Archaeology Regional Center (PARC) of the Florida
Public Archaeology Network to begin Spring 2006.  For program

Primary responsibilities include:  assistance to local governments with
their programmatic needs and to the Division of Historical Resources,
Florida Department of State, in carrying out its archaeological
responsibilities; development of heritage tourism programs in
conjunction with local governments and regional preservation groups;
public presentations and outreach to the public as well as to
professional associations; and administration including budget
development, monthly reports, overseeing center's facilities and
property inventory.  Duties include supervision of center staff.
Frequent regional and limited statewide travel required.  The position
is full-time with benefits.  The position is a professional staff
position and will not lead to a tenure-track position.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Master of Arts in Anthropology or related
field, three years of experience in cultural resource management, one of
which should include public archaeology. Administrative experience and
work in Florida is preferred.

 

Salary:   Commensurate with experience and qualifications, with a range
of $42,000-$50,000.
