Wood samples as would be found in a shipwreck can be fairly easily
identified by anyone with a botanical background and a microscope to at
least the generic level. If your project requires a specific or sub-specific
identification, or needs the "weight" of a professional identification, Dr.
Linda Scott Cummings at Paleoresearch in Colorado is an excellent choice for
