My son slept in this odd position almost from day one with his head tilted
back as far as possible. Only when sleeping did he put his head in that
position. He was also a huge snorer! Ends up he was treated for reflux at about
one year of age and also had his gigantic adenoids removed at 1 1/2 years old.
Luke is now 2 1/2 years old. Once the adenoids were removed he was able to
breathe normally, no more snoring and kept his head in a normal position for
sleeping. I learned about the term sandifers when I was reading about GERD and
adenoid issues.

(Although our insurance, Independant Health, is now in a fight with all of
our specialist physicians that Luke has seen at our Children's Hospital and will
no longer cover services for any Indpt. Health clients. They conveniently
changed this coverage this Jan. 1st after most people have had their open
enrollment time in the Fall. These are pretty much the only pediatric guys in town
- urolgists, cardiologists, ENTs, etc. (Dare I say - a good story for Michael
Moore's next film on healthcare and insurance companies!) I'm deciding how
to wage my own battle against them!
