Driving to work last week I heard about half the slow movement and the
last movement of piano Concerto #1 with Evgeni Kissin and a Saarbrucken
orchestra (if I heard rightly) on NPR.

This was a live performance and just brilliant.  I don't know if it was
the piano or Kissin, but something he did added a resonance and depth
to the slow movement I don't remember hearing before.  Perhaps this was
a pedal effect? And the wind-piano duos were delightful.  Even the
ultra-low register melody in the 3rd movement had clarity.

Checking Archivmusic, this is not an available recording, unfortunately.
How do others like his recordings of the 2nd and 5th piano concertos
which are available on Sony #62926
