Hello,
Last January at the SHA meetings in York, we had a very successful session
entitled the « The Environmental Archaeology of Colonies, Missions and
Plantations ». The papers were both temporally and geographically varied,
spanning two continents and four centuries. The majority of the
participants are working towards publishing their papers in a collective
volume. There are currently seven articles in preparation and other
contributions are being sought. Have some environmental data on missions,
colonies and/or plantations and have been meaning to write it up? Now is
the time. Please contact me directly off list for more information. First
drafts are being sought for late 2005.

thanks
Dr. Allison Bain
