Bob,

I think you are on to something there. The news media pick up on lots of
artists who do some pretty amazing things that cause them to live reclusive lives.
Examples include the family that continues to blast the North Dakota mountain
to create a monument to Crazy Horse; people who dig tunnel houses and
vacation homes underground; people who sculpt granite or limestone boulders into
animals or whimsical creatures; or the guy who created a dozen or so towers out of
marine shells and concrete all around his front yard here in San Diego.
