During the 1970s and early 1980s, Pittsburgh's
original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular
Science displayed two display-case exhibits on the
topic of solar energy:

"Solar Battery"

"A Sun Furnace for Your Attic"

The "Solar Battery" exhibit was developed for Buhl
Planetarium by the Bell Telephone Company of
Pennsylvania, which assisted Buhl with many exhibits
on communications technology [and, for a while,
provided Buhl with a part-time Curator to explain the
exhibits to the public!].

I believe these exhibits no longer exist.

Hello,

I'm looking for information on presently employed
solar power exhibits.
Specifically, I'm interested in how they are received
by your visitors,
and if they are an agent of change.
I'm trying to get the ammunition I need to write a
proposal for funding
a very dynamic solar exhibit at my facility: The
Planetarium projector
powered by the sun!
