I agree, Kenneth Miller's book is one of the best on the subject. The
author, a Roman Catholic biologist, was a key expert witness in demolishing
the Intelligent Design evidence in the recent Dover School trial. Darwin's
church-mice score again... That's an example of what I meant about the
value of support from educated Christians.

My other favourite is Reason, Science and Faith by Paul Marston and Roger
Forster. Monarch Books 1999. ISBN 1 85424 441 8
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1579106617/sr=8-1/qid=1154698474/ref=sr_1_1/103-0047404-5142229?ie=UTF8

This is a stunningly comprehensive, scholarly account of the issues by two
British evangelical Christian leaders. Be prepared to be startled by the
detailed account in this book of the relatively recent emergence of the
familiar creationist movement after 1960, and the way the real history of
the controversy has become unrecognisably distorted.
