Dear Fellow HistArch'ers,
At Stanford, we are continuing our work on the Market Street
Chinatown archaeological collection, excavated in 1985-1988 during a
major redevelopment project in downtown San Jose, California. This
winter, students enrolled in the Laboratory Methods in Archaeology
class are learning analysis skills by cataloging and analyzing
materials from the collection. Each week, a student in the class will
be posting an update on the research at our project website:
www.stanford.edu/~cengel/SJCT.
We are particularly hoping that HistArch'ers might be able to help us
in identifying some of the artifacts from the collection. In the
first project update, we have posted images of two porcelain bowls
with unusual decorations.

Can any of you help us identify these patterns?
Many thanks
Barb Voss
