In Troy, NY there was a marvelous invention, maybe more important than
R.P. Parrott's rifled cannon patent, built from various irons in the
privately run West Point Foundry in Cold Spring, NY...the automatic
horseshoe machine, which revolutionized the use of horses by humans I
suppose, besides the earlier Tennessee horse breeding moving to the
"blue grass" of Kentucky.
