SCHAC 8: September 16-18, 2005 -
Memphis, Tennessee
Call for Papers:

SCHAC will be shuffling into Memphis on September 16-18, so now is the
time to make arrangements. In the tradition of past meetings, this
year's conference promises to be a memorable experience.

Papers can be 15-20 minutes in length on any topic related to
historical archaeology in the region. Abstracts should be submitted to
Guy Weaver, Conference Organizer, by August 15, 2005.

The conference hotel will be the Comfort Inn Downtown, 100 N. Front
Street, located across from the Mud Island monorail, within easy
access to the trolley line. A limited number of rooms have been
reserved, so make your reservations soon. Conference rates for
single/double/triple/quad rooms are $84.00 + tax, with Executive
Business Class rooms at $104.00 + tax. Please call the local number
(901-526-0583) or the toll-free number (1-877-424-6423) and make a
reservation before August 30, 2005 — after that date, the rooms may no
longer be set aside. Remember to mention SCHAC when you reserve your
room.

The opening reception, with keynote speakers, will be held at the Mud
Island River Museum on Friday afternoon, 4:00pm-7:00pm. Papers will be
presented all day Saturday at the Shelby County Archives, located at
150 Washington Avenue, a short stroll from the hotel. A workshop will
be held at the Archives on Sunday morning (9am to 12am).

Other details will be posted soon on the SCHAC webpage.
