A second poster on chronology for commonly occurring artifacts is now

available from the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology. It is

titled “Telling Time for the Second Half of Nineteenth Century.” Artifact

dates used in the poster were taken from the article “Telling Time for

Archaeologists” by George L. Miller, Patricia Samford, Ellen Shlasko and

Andrew Madsen published in the 2000 issue of Northeast Historical

Archaeology. The poster was designed and produced for the Council for

Northeast Historical Archaeology by URS Corporation, now located in

Burlington, New Jersey. Further information on the poster and a glance of

part of it can be found on the CNEHA web site:

www.smcm.edu/Academics/soan/cneha/george%20poster1.html Thanks to Silas

Hurry for posting it to this site. A third poster titled “Telling Time for

the First Half of the Nineteenth Century” will be made available at the

CNEHA Meetings in October that are being held in Trenton, New Jersey.

Peace,

George L. Miller
