If you go to http://www.google.com and enter "Harris matrix Bonn" the very
first site you would be directed to is
http://www.uni-koeln.de/~al001/basp.html where you can download the
software. You will also be directed to
http://intarch.ac.uk/journal/issue8/reviews/rains.html which reviews similar
software.

I've used Arched on urban sites in the northeast. If you have a laptop in
the field with you, or feel like entering the data when the field day is
done, it makes sense. A pencil, graph paper, and a large eraser work better
in the field, and we wound up taking that and entering it into the program
when we were done, because the graphic that the software produces looked
better than our graph paper.

Subject: Bonn Harris Matrix Compiler

Hi All -

Does anyone have experience working with the Bonn Harris Matrix
Compiler, a program written by Irmela Herzog (cited in her 1993 article
"Computer-aided Harris Matrix generation," in Practices of
Archaeological Stratigraphy)? Current contact info for Herzog or how to
get the program? General thoughts on the various programs out there to
create matrices, or the advantages/disadvantages of drawn matrices
versus those created by graphing programs?

Thanks in advance

~Liz
