You may have Kris contact Kim McBride at the Kentucky Archaeological Survey. She has done extensive work at Shakertown (Pleasant Hill) in Kentucky. The Ohio Department of Transportation also did a study of Union Village (Shaker) in southwest Ohio.

Subject: utopian pioneer settlements

A fellow collegue asked me to post this for him. If you want to post to the
list rather than to him directly I can forward the info.
Susan Briggs

Hello all,

I'm searching for studies of nineteenth and early twentieth century utopian
pioneer settlements, either religious (eg. Mormon, Shaker, etc.) or secular
(socialist/ communist). Sites in Australia are preferred, but sites in
America, Canada, New Zealand, or other countries with similar traditions may
also be helpful. I'm interested specifically in archaeological studies rather
than historical treatises. If you have references or comments, please contact
me at [log in to unmask]

Thank you for your time.

This fall, Cincinnati Museum Center invites you to plan your day around our weather. Prepare yourself for an awesome cinematic spectacle of rumbling earthquakes, monstrous volcanoes and massive tornadoes as FORCES OF NATURE storms into the Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX Theater. Then delve into the science of these and other natural disasters as Time Warner Cable presents POWERS OF NATURE, a fascinating and fun interactive exhibit that explores the meteorological and geological phenomena that have shaped our planet. For information, tickets or to become a member of Cincinnati Museum Center, call (513) 287-7000 or (800) 733-2077 or visit www.cincymuseum.org.
