i'm tempted to ask why you read playboy now :)
anyway - with all this talk of ritual burials, i'm reminded of a lot of animal burials in prehistoric contexts out here in europe, too - deer & boars & stuff with all their bones intact, apparently just thrown into pits & covered over - & i'm sure i've seen them in pre-contact NAmerican contexts, too -
someone mentioned something similar happening under basements the other day, and this was just gnawing at what little is left of my mind, trying to get out -
shouldn't you be looking wider afield in this...?
