I have noted a couple of instances of renovation rubbish in the sub-floor area. An 1890 house rebuilt in the 1960s where all the plaster was stripped off, chimneys demolished and the like, and all the crap was swept into the hole left by the demolished chimneys, including bits of cutlery and crockery, and a whole pile of chop bones - maybe the builders enjoyed chops for lunch.

Anyway the pile was obviously from a single instance of clearing the room, as it formed a neat pyramid reaching up to the joists. This was a house that was lived in until the renovation started, so I imagine if it had been abandoned for a while before being fixed up, there would be a bigger variety of crap swept down the hole.
