The long forgotten oratorio 'La Caduta di Gerico' (The fall of Jerico)
by Johann Adolf Hasse (1699-1783) is now available in a live recording
from Musica Rara - Milan. The recording is of the first modern performance,
held in Milan (where most of Hasse's autographs are kept) in 2002, and
is an impressive array of virtuosic vocal writing, and some very interesting
choral writing.
