I had cases of Bf mother's taking Prozac for ppd.  In both instances weaning
was recommended.  In one case mom opted for a different medication.  She then
began to experience sleepless and her anxiety level began to rise. On the
recommendation of her pyschiatrist she weaned the baby and went back to the
Prozac.

In the other case weaning was also the outcome.  This mother reduced her
intake to sub-theraputic doses (2-4 mg) and continued to nurse with her
physicians ok.  She also began to experience sleeplessness and anxiety.  She
became so distessed that her physician and I became concerned for the welfare
of the baby.  The Prozac was increased and the baby weaned.

I have not heard from either mother in regard to whether they are still
taking the medication or not.  Both cases were taken later last year.
