Surely the problem, at least as far as beekeepers are concerned, is the
unnecessarily large hive entrances most people use, which creates a situation
where it becomes relatively easy for the wasps to creep in. Since I started
using permanently reduced entrances, my wasp problems have effectively ceased,
despite the presence of numerous nests.
