These very cheap Mahler symphony recordings appear on various labels: All
the Pilz incarnations, Zyx, etc.
The 5th does sound awful. I haven't heard a 1st credited to Nanut,
though there is one knocking about sometimes credited to him and sometimes
to "Vladimir Petroschoff" and that IS truly awful. There is a Nanut Das
Lied Von der Erde which is quite good. You might also look out for a 2nd
that sometimes gets credited to Nanut and sometimes to Milan Horvath (99%
sure that it is, in fact, by the latter) and that is good too, for what
you pay. Beware, though, that there is a version of it credited to Nanut
that appears on just one disc and has had a few minutes cut from the last
movement. If you see it (Nanut or Horvath credited) then it needs to be
one two CDs. Finally, there is a Nanut 4th that uses a treble in the last
movement.
