I can't say I think too much of your ideas about the Mahler 3rd and 7th
symphonies.  I consider the last movement of the Mahler 3rd to be one
of the most sublime pieces Mahler ever penned, and I certainly don't
think movements 2 and 3 of the 7th to be either trivial or self indulgent.

Obviously your listening experience is unique to you, as mine is unique
to me.  But I'm glad you arn't planning my Mahler experience.
