Most of those I would agree about, though I never thought much of Haitink's
first cycle. His second I liked a lot better. But Karajan has done some
good Bruckner. The best I can recall are his first stereo DG Ninth, his
EMI Fourth, and, especially, a glorious, beautiful sounding EMI Seventh.
I have to agree about some of the DG issues that made up his complete DG
cycle. Most of them had mediocre sound, which does not help Bruckner--at
least for me it doesn't. I haven't heard his late DGs. But everyone
should at least hear that EMI 7th. Come to think of it the EMI 8th wasn't
bad either, though I don't think it was recorded as well.
