There is another EMI 2 CD set from last year with Smith playing the
following Alkan works:

Grande Sonate, op. 33
Etudes op. 39, nos 1-3 and 12
Prelude op. 31 no 8 (La chanson de la folle au bord de la mer)
Etude op. 35 no 5 (Allegro barbaro)
Sonatine, op. 61
Etudes op. 76
Etudes op. 16

It was recorded between 1971 and 1987.  I can warmly recommend this set
as well.
