Aloha Tracey,
Bishop Museum does outreach programs on all the Hawaiian islands, so we have to transport our materials by air as well as car. We use plastic Rubbermaid tubs for almost all our supplies. We drill holes in the lids and bottoms, then use cable ties to keep them shut. (One piece of advice: when you are drilling the lids and bottoms, write a number or other identifying mark on both, otherwise you might find the lids get mixed up and the lid holes won't match the bottom holes exactly.) This system works quite well for us since the tubs are easy to move and stack, are durable, relatively cheap, and easy to find at a hardware store or Walmart. (By the way, we got this idea from the Imaginarium in Alaska.) Hope that helps.

Subject: outreach program cases

Hi Everyone,

I am putting together some educational kits for an Outreach Program
and am in need of some information on where to purchase cases.
Canadian or American companies that any of you guys have experience
with would be preferred. The cases have to be sturdy enough for
constant travel by airplane and road vehicles and also be lockable.
Of course funding is always at a minimum so information on places
that offer reasonable prices and bulk deals would be especially
appreciated.

Thanks
