Hi Linda,

We had this exhibit as a part of "Air Play" a few years back and it was
quite wonderful. Its weakest link was that the fan providing the "wind"
had to live in a terrible environment, essentially an on-going
sandstorm. By the time the exhibit came here the motor that drove the
fan was very tired and eventually it fell down inside the exhibit. No
real harm and certainly no danger, but it was a headache to repair.

Do check and see if this unit has been made more robust. Part of the
problem was also that kids could bang the fan back and forth from one
end of travel to the other which they of course did with regularity.
Perhaps this aspect has been changed, which would help a lot.

Having said this, it's still a great exhibit, we'd love to have a copy
here along with our tornado.

Hope this helps.

John B

We are considering using the Aeolian Landscape as an exhibit interactive
for our new children's museum. Does anyone have any feedback on its ease
of use, popularity, and ability to engage younger children? I know it
is used in science centers, but wondered about its potential appeal to
younger children under 12 years old.
