Hi everyone,

Here is the job description for the newly created position for the NSF-ITEST
grant we just received. It is a big responsibility and I need a tech-savvy
person who is confident in science and teaching. Please pass along to all
parties that think might be interested.

Educational Technology Curriculum Developer
  
The person in this position will oversee all aspects of the NSF-Funded ITEST
Grant, Crime Scene IT (CSIT).
 
Three years contractual agreement
 
Full Time, 35 hours per week - weekends and evenings if required.
 
Crime Scene IT is a three-year NSF-funded project with the following
components:
* design, prototype and implementation of five science-based CSIT portable
laboratories (based on Hallšs model of portable laboratories) with
supporting curriculum for classroom use by teachers and students
* summer camp intensive workshops for students using the CSIT labs
* a citywide conference for high school guidance counselors
* a citywide forensic science symposium for teachers and students
 
Responsibilities  of the MST Curriculum Content Developer Include:
 
* research, develop and create IT-based forensic science curriculum for
middle and high school
* create portable laboratories to house this curriculum and associated
technologies 
* recruit and train 50 teachers on the curriculum over three-year period
* recruit and prototype curriculum with middle school students registered in
the Hallšs vacation camps
* plan and implement a citywide forensic science symposium at the end of
third year 
* work closely with the project evaluator
* work closely with all project partners, advisors and consultants
* Assist the VP for Education with other Education Department programs as
assigned. 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
A
1. Motivation to serve the public's educational needs.
2.  Well-developed communication, research, and organization skills.
3.  M.S. in science, technology or education with a strong background in the
technology
4.       Experience working with children in both an informal and a formal
setting.
5.       Experience developing and delivering workshops to education and
science professionals.
6.       Experience creating successful workshops, demonstrations, and other
programs suitable for use at a science and technology center.

B.            
1. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to A. 1-7 above
may be substituted for the specific items therein.
