Sara,
At Science City, we have a Nature Center that isn't quite a "living
collection." It's more a rag tag group exotic pet rejects. (No one
should tell Piggy, our hairless guinea pig I said that though!!!) We
are licensed by the USDA as an "exhibitor." We have produced our animal
care protocol from the USDA's "Animal Welfare Act and Animal Welfare
Regulations" a publication that you could easily get from the USDA.
Good Luck,

If one cannot state a matter clearly enough so that even an intelligent
twelve-year-old can understand it, one should remain within the
cloistered walls of the university and laboratory until one gets a
better grasp of one's subject matter.
