I was wondering if anyone out in HISTARCH land would be interested in
giving me some educated feedback on a flint lock that I excavated from the
late eighteenth century site in Kentucky? I have tried to find it in the
few sources I have at hand (including one of Hamilton's pubs but not all)
but am not happy with my results. A muzzleloading acquaintance who knows a
lot about antique guns thought it might be a trade gun and that could
easily be true, given where I found it (home of a settler who went on a lot
of retaliatory raids against the Native Americans in the Ohio Valley). But
I really can't verify that. Please respond off-list. And thanks in advance.
