Given all of the discussion of reuse of bottles, I am surprised that
no one has mentioned Jane Busch's excellent article "Second Time Around: A
Look at Bottle Reuse."   This article was published in Historical
Archaeology (Vol. 21(1):67-80) and has been reprinted in both editions of
the SHA reader Approaches to Material Culture Research for Historical
Archaeologists.   Information on the reader can be found on the SHA web
site.
