Hello Mary,
Thanks for the heads-up on these matters. I would suggest that anyone noting
problems in the preliminary program directly contact SHA's headquarters
([log in to unmask]) so that we may straighten them out for the final program.
I can assure any SHA member that subscribe to HISTARCH that they will
receive an email directly from SHA's headquarters advising them of the
availability of the preliminary program on our web site.
I would also note for the benefit of HISTARCH subscribers that SHA posts
messages to this listserve as public service announcements. HISTARCH is an
independant entity and is not the official voice of the Society for
Historical Archaeology.

Objet : Emails from HQ
Bill,
I was talking to Julie King about this matter the other day: HQ seems to
think that sending messages to HISTARCH is an acceptable substitute to
creating an email list for the SHA membership. Of course we should post
to HISTARCH, but many people on that list are not SHA members, and
many, many SHA members are not subscribed to that list. That would
include folks like Rebecca Allen and other officers and board members
who can't be bothered to put up with the endless posts on trivial matters
that clog up our mailboxes.
I have just downloaded the booklet so will have a look at it. Those who
have looked at it have noted many problems so I suppose I had better
have a look.
I finally got the photos of Marcel! What an excellent portrait; the warmth
of
his personality just shines through!
