The Florida Museum's on line type collection is a great resource and it is
up to us to make it even better. Rather than grousing about
misidentifications or misplaced pictures in this forum, let the FSM
webmaster know. I found this link on their page

You'll have to actually go to their web page
http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/histarch/gallery_types/how-to.asp
to make the link work. It seems to me that the FSM has provided the
framework and search engine, now it is up to the archaeological community to
help hone the contents with comments. Good job FSM, you make me proud to be
a gator!

Gee, I even apologized in advance for "grousing." And I agree completely that
their effort is a good one, and hate to spread negativity.. However, it is
the responsibility of the person or institution posting the web site to insure
its accuracy, not mine. Knowingly posting incorrect information is
irresponsible. Posting information when you have no idea of whether it is right or wrong
is even worse. FSM is putting forth information that is incorrect, and
credulous researchers will quote it and reiterate the mistakes as if they were true.
Thus the spiral of mistakes begetting mistakes will continue. I say, get it
right or don't post it* .
My opinion, for what its worth...
becoming a grumpier old fart every day...
