Sir Adrian Boult is your man. Amazon lists a number of Boult CDs of it,
some of which may be the same performance, but he recorded it a number
of times. I'd suggest the one which couples it with Holst's The Planets.
I think these were Boult's last recordings of both.
Incidentally, a Naxos CD of Elgar's piano music played by Ashley Wass
includes the Enigma Variations. I'm a sucker for piano arrangements but
this may also appeal to your primary interests.
