I've never seen honeybees on tomatoes, perhaps their tongue isn't long
enough or it doesn't produce much nectar. I've been told bumble bees will
work tomatoes. My understanding is that tomatoes are mostly self
pollinating with the flower parts close to each other so that it only takes
movement of the plant (by the wind for instance) to pollinate the
plant. (In a greenhouse it only takes giggleing the plants for
pollination).
