Jacqui, I'll bequeath you my favorite response to extended nursing. (By the way, it worked wonderfully on my (former) mother-in-law when my oldest was only six months old and she asked the question on when I would wean!) "Well, we have hopes that she'll go to an Ivy League school, so, hopefully, by the time she graduates from high school!"
My (former) step-father-in-law laughed and had a wonderful reply to her then. He told her that his mama nursed him until his feet dragged the floor as she was rocking him. Oh, for more folks like Doc.
