ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Sounds like you're looking for a specific study on the subject - some
work was done in the last 3 years or so in London on this. It was a
fabulous set up where you could watch the eye movement of other visitors
looking at a painting that was located in a different gallery. I can't
remember the specifics (or details of resulting articles) at the moment,
but contact Dirk vom Lehn at King's College London as I'd bet he'll know
all the details. [log in to unmask]

Subject: Re: research on reading graphic panels

Hi All,

Many thanks for your replies so far.

What I failed to mention in my original message was that the article was
suggesting (or possibly used) eye-tracking software to measure how
people scanned graphic panels as they approached an exhibit, rather than
using observational sessions, surveys or recording conversations. I
might check out human factor journals instead of education and
museum-based journals.

Thanks

Cindy Chambers
