I must disagree with some of your statements. Ok, sure, it's nice to
browse through a rack of cds, but my collection is so large now, that
I often find myself unable to pick something out on just a browse.
On the other hand, if there is a specific piece I want, which is more
often than not the case these days, or a specific artist, it is much
faster to go online.
As for non-existant help online, this is simply not the case. Just last
week I sent an email to the helpdesk at www.archivmusic.com and had a
courteous and correct answer to my query within twelve hours. The folk
at this website at least, are very quick and accurate and they know their
stuff.
It takes me 30 minutes one way to get to Tower in Dallas, and they never
have what I want. I then have to order from them, wait a week, then drive
back to get it. Screw that. Archiv music has what I need, and it comes
to my mailbox in 3-5 days. Long may they prosper.
