Ormand Aebi died on Monday, July 19, 2004, at the age of 88 years. A
third generation beekeeper, co-author with his father of two books, THE
ART AND ADVENTURE OF BEEKEEPING and MASTERING THE ART OF BEEKEEPING, and
co-holder with his father of the official world's record in the GUINESS
BOOK OF RECORDS from 1976 to 1984, for the most honey produced in a
single hive with a single queen in a single season, 404 lbs. - which
true single queen record (broken only with the use of multiple queens)
will most likely never be seriously challenged. He was a great beekeeper
and we all loved him and will miss him.
