You want to carmalize the honey. I use a microwave to make honey coated
peanuts. Unfortunately, I have never bothered to make a recipe so the
time in the microwave is by eye.
I coat the peanuts (does not take much honey) and add whatever other
flavor I like (chili powder is nice). Spread them out on a plate and
microwave until brown but not burnt. Allow to cool and scrape off the
plate. They will stay separated if you keep them in a closed jar, but in
time will get sticky (months not days). Even then, they can be re-separated.
I have also made microwave granola like Adrian.
If you have large batches, you can use the oven, but I like the
microwave since it is quick and makes about a pint.
