Try Polycarbonate rods. Available at McMaster-Carr Supply Co. (Telephone No. (330) 995-5500) in a variety of diameters. Polycarbonate won't break and leave sharp ends like plexi.

> Hello all,
>
> Our youth volunteers have a variety of demos to take out on the floor for the public; one is spinning plates. Unfortunately, the dowel rods are constantly getting broken. Does anyone have a suggestion or source for studier materials. We've had the suggestion of metal rods, but would like to research other options first.
