ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

A book relevant to this discussion is in production now by the
Exploratorium. "Fostering Active Prolonged Engagement: The Art of Creating
APE Exhibits" is the result of a very careful study which has built on
earlier work by, among others, the Museum of Science (Boston) and the
Science Museum of Minnesota. (SMM's books "Experiment Bench" and "Cell Lab
Cookbook" describe up some of its work.) Ways of accommodating more than one
person include multiple stations, multiple entry points, and seating. Watch
for news of the Exploratorium "APE" book on the ASTC web site.
