Borders used to have "out of print" sections for each recording, but
Amazon gobbled them up. However, Amazon WILL take you to individual
and store vendors who sell items no longer in print, giving you some
information on sellers.
Also, it's one store that will pay attention to a search for bach bwv 999
(With most searches, using all lower case will tend to get you more
reliable results) This one gets you any CD that has all 3 "words" in
it)
That brought up 88 results - the first 2 pages are mainly junk but some
good CDs come up after that.
But I have a page specifically for classical-music vendor searchboxes
from all the good places I've heard of, worldwide. Most ship internationally.
Some I affiliate with, and some don't use affiliates. I take people to
classical-music searchboxes in either case.

For best results use the simplest search term
mozart 503
That will not likely get you anything BUT K503. The "K" sometimes comes
with periods and sometimes not so best to avoid getting too specific.
In looking up performers, try to use last name only when that identifies
a person enough.
If anyone has recommendations of good online places, please let me know
and I'll add them. I don't care if they pay commissions or not though I
take them if they do:-)
