For any Chicago area List members or anyone who might be in the area,
I'd like to extend an invitation to attend a piano recital on Sunday,
March 2, 2003 at 2:30 P.M. by Barbara Nissman in Lockport, IL.
The concerts are held in the beautiful, recently restored, 155 year-old
historic Norton Building. Concerts are held in a large loft atop the
building which has exceptional acoustics, and we limit the audience to
around 120 persons to maintain an authentic chamber music environment.
Lockport is South-West of Chicago and is approximately a 45 minute drive
from downtown Chicago.
The scheduled program for this recital is:
Prokofiev Sonata No. 4, Op. 29 (1917)
Prokofiev Suggestion Diabolique, Op. 4 (1908)
Ginastera Danza de la moza donosa, Op. 2 (1937)
Prokofiev Etude No. 1, Op. 2 (1909)
Ginastera Rondo sobre temas infantiles argentinos, Op. 19 (1947)
Liszt Consolation No. 3 in D-flat (1850)
Mephisto Waltz (1860)
************Intermission*************
Ginastera Sonata No. 1, Op. 22 (1952)
Liszt Sonata in B minor (1853)
Ms. Nissman will be available after the concert to speak with audience
members and to sign CDs so you will have a chance to meet her personally
if you like.
Limited seating for this recital is still available at $30 for a reserved
seat. For more details please contact me directly (please mention the
Moderated Classical Music List) or visit our website for more about
