ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

The Science Museum of MN has had a partnership with St. Paul Public Schools
for about 13 years in developing a "museum process" based elementary magnet
school. I am the museum liaison for Museum Magnet School, K- grade 6. We
also have one full time museum staff person working there during the school
year. The focus of the school is student-developed exhibits. Each grade
develops 2 exhibitions per year. The program has evolved quite a bit since
the beginning, for a variety of internal and external reasons.
Please contact me for specific details about the school or our focus.
We also have the published proceedings from a 1995 symposium about museum
schools to look at the history of several schools still in existence. ASTC
Dimensions last fall also reported on several new programs or previously
less documented programs.
Finally, California Science Center is opening their new partnership school
this fall. The contact is Jacques Bordeaux <[log in to unmask]
