ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
The Brooklyn Children's Museum is looking to expand its base of exhibition
design providers.
We are seeking design and production firms with the depth of experience and
capabilities to translate concepts, content and activity--developed by and
with our exhibition development teams--into object-based, hands-on, highly
interactive and engaging experiences aimed at children ages 5 through 12 and
their families, caregivers and teachers.
Services and experience will include:
Exhibition and graphic design
* Designing and managing the design development of large, complex projects
that integrate multi-media, collections, interactives and theatrical
elements.
* A willingness to work with the team and outside evaluators to provide
prototypes for formative evaluation (concept and design) at appropriate
points throughout the development and design process and respond
appropriately to the findings to insure the exhibit meets its goals and
objectives. And as well, work with the team to respond to remedial/summative
evaluation findings after the exhibit opens.
* The flexibility to provide several options for design from concept through
component/activity design and graphics.
* An understanding and commitment to universal design principles and ADA
requirements.
* An ability to work outward from activity and visitor needs rather than
from the architectural affect down.
* An open and clear communication style and transparent work process.
* Interactive and multimedia production.
* Production management.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver superior products on time and on budget.
*
Please respond off-list to me at the address below if you have any
