World Premiere of Cesar Vuksic Queens Rhapsody for Narrator, Chamber
Ensemble and Piano on June 4 - Composer To Perform Piano Part in New
Work
Cesar Vuksic's Queens Rhapsody for narrator, clarinet, violin, trombone,
percussion and piano will be given its World Premiere performance on
Sunday, June 4th, 3:30 PM at the Kew Gardens Community Center, 80-02 Kew
Gardens Road, Kew Gardens in Queens, New York.
This new work is a musical 'Portrait of Queens' in its extraordinary
ethnic diversity and cultural vitality. It recreates and combines very
different musical styles, including Tango, Jazz (the house of Louis
Armstrong is a Museum in Corona), Klezmer, Calypso, Greek Dances and
melody in Chinese style in a musical kaleidoscope filled with the
atmosphere and unique feeling of Queens.
Other selections on this program include solo piano music by Debussy,
Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Rausch (Transformations on a melody by Piazzolla
- 2006, dedicated to Cesar Vuksic) and Mr. Vuksic's Toccatina (2004).
Performers for this concert will be Nelly Vuksic (narrator), Meighan
Stoops (clarinet), David Bowlin (violin), Haim Avitsur (trombone), Stephen
Solook (percussion) and Cesar Vuksic, Piano.

Argentinean pianist, composer and painter Cesar Vuksic has appeared
throughout the USA, South Americas, Europe and Japan as a recitalist,
soloist with orchestra and chamber musician. He has premiered numerous
compositions by South and North American composers, some of them written
especially for him.
As a composer, his works have been performed in the U.S. and Latin
America by outstanding musicians and presented in concerts and Festivals
by music organizations such as Buenos Aires New Music Association, North
South Consonance (New York), New York University, Interamerican Music
Festival (Washington D.C.) and the Americas Vocal Ensemble, with which
he has been associated as a Pianist, President of the Board of Directors
and Programming Advisor from its inception. He has recorded for the
4Tay, North South Consonance, Opus One and Premiere labels. More about
