A bit of bragging here. My 17 yr old "baby" son just donated blood for the
first time. His total, non-fasting cholesterol is (drum roll here) 105! This
was my 11 pound (three week early) baby who was breastfed for 3 yrs. His
brother who was ONLY breastfed for 2.5 yrs. has a total, also non-fasting
cholesterol of 125. What can I say. He only weighed 10 lbs. at birth! Does
breastfeeding lower cholesterol and prevent obesity? You bet! Of course, I'm
preaching to the choir.
